In this Ted talk, Kahiu talks about what her country expects from everyone. To be strong, independent, and work hard. These are things that America also expects from us. How we need to push forward, every moment is valuable and yet, have we forgotten what it is to have creativity? Kahiu creates art that is fun, and loose, that doesn't necessarily have a meaning to it. Kahiu states "films and theaters write about HIV, radicalization but that can't be all the art that comes out of one country" people should set their own standards for themselves and not have others expectations make what THEY want into what OTHERS want. Her drawings express happiness, which is a privilege with how things are now... where hope comes with diligence. You shouldn't alter your american dream into what others deem "ideal" if that's not how you picture it.
